Central to the Power Plant facility at downtown Durham’s American Tobacco Campus is the newly refurbished Boiler Room. A 2,195-square-foot mixed-use space, the Boiler Room consists of a main pavilion, great hallway, and rear corridor that horseshoe around the base of the iconic Lucky Strike smokestack, offering a dramatic setting for wedding receptions, catered dinners, and other public events. Originally constructed in 1930 directly adjacent to Durham’s celebrated Lucky Strike water tower, the Boiler Room—with its Classical Revival brick exterior, expansive windows, and polished concrete floors—is a contemporary venue in a historic setting.
The Boiler Room is available from 9 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
