Dorothy Berry

Dorothy Berry is an archivist whose work focuses on the description and discoverability of African American cultural heritage materials. With a diverse academic background in new music performance, historical ethnomusicology, and archival studies, Berry has been able to lend a unique curatorial eye to enhancing discoverability of underrepresented histories at institutional repositories. She has worked at the Archives of African American Music and Culture and the Black Film Center/Archive at Indiana University as well as Umbra Search African American History at the University of Minnesota, and is currently at Houghton Library, Harvard University, where she serves as the inaugural Digital Collections Program Manager.
