Greg Britz is the associate director for operations and finance at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University (CDS) where he has worked for the past twenty-two years. An interdisciplinary educational organization affiliated with Duke University, the Centre for Documentary Studies offers a variety of programs that connect the arts and humanities to fieldwork, drawing upon documentary methods of photography, filmmaking, oral history, folklore, and writing as catalysts for education and change. In his role as associate director, Greg manages all financial aspects of CDS, along with oversight of HR, physical plant, legal and tax aspects of CDS operations. 

Prior to joining the team at CDS, Greg worked in the Boston law firm of Palmer and Dodge where he worked in the public law department on tax exempt financing.  Prior to working for Palmer and Dodge, Greg played professional ice hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs (1983-1986) and the Hartford Whalers (1986-1987).

Dedicated to service, he has provided pro-bono legal assistance to vulnerable populations, and served on the Boards of several organizations; including: The National Community Service Trust, the Orange County, NC Education Foundation, and Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc. (TROSA).  Greg has served on the TROSA Board since 2002, and has led as its Board Chair since July 1, 2015.

Greg resides on a small farm in Orange County North Carolina where he gardens and raises chickens and goats.  He holds a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Northeastern University School of Law.
