Jamila R. Davenport
Operations Specialist
Jamila R. Davenport is an emerging multimedia documentarian who shares narratives digitally across internet platforms. Born and raised in Durham, she graduated from North Carolina Central University ('98) with a BA in visual communications and received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design ('01) in graphic design. Once moving back to North Carolina, she reconnected to both her home and community through volunteering, which fuels her passion for authentically documenting unique points-of-views from diverse voices. Jamila has designed several N.C. Central University publications, produced a national podcast with the Storymakers: Durham project, participated in Triangle's Black on Black collective and exhibitions, and is currently managing the visual content creation for the Beats + Bars Hip Hop Community movement.
