Mike Gulley is the development director at the Center for Documentary Studies (CDS). He has more than eighteen years of experience and expertise in nonprofit fundraising, organizational growth, and relationship management. Mike has helped to grow capacity and fundraise for a number of organizations both here in the Triangle and also during his time living in California’s Bay Area. Prior to joining CDS, he served as the associate director of major gifts at Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment, the director of annual giving at the WakeMed Foundation, senior development officer at N.C. State University Libraries, the director of development for Curamericas, and as campaign manager at the United Way of the Bay Area. Mike also volunteers throughout the community; he just recently completed service as a member of the board of directors for Schoolhouse of Wonder and regularly serves as a precinct official for the Wake County Board of Elections. He earned a BA in history and sociology from the University of South Florida and is also certified in nonprofit management from Duke University’s continuing education program. When he is not at work, Mike enjoys hiking, traveling, and photography.
