Writer and anthropologist Kelly Alexander is a longtime Center for Documentary Studies instructor whose perennially over-enrolled writing seminar, Our Culinary Cultures, is one of around fifty Documentary Studies courses offered annually through our undergraduate education program. A former editor at Food & Wine and Saveur, she is a James Beard Journalism Award recipient whose food-based essays and articles have appeared in the New York Times, the New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, the Atlantic, and many other publications.
