Applied Documentary Research

DOCST 301S

Project-based course in which undergraduate and graduate students work collaboratively to produce significant public-facing research product drawing on documentary research, analysis, and interpretation. Topics vary depending on section. Students will gain a conceptual understanding of the project topic, develop research plans, conduct new research, and develop a final product containing significant analysis and interpretation (e.g., exhibits, oral histories, films/videos, audio works). Graduate students will mentor undergraduate students and take leadership roles in facilitating projects. Some courses will continue in two-semester sequence.
