The Full Frame Fellows Program offers Duke undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage deeply with the documentary form during the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival happening April 16 – 19, 2026, in Durham.
Designed to educate, motivate and nurture emerging storytellers, the program invites participating students to immerse themselves in everything the festival has to offer: films fresh on the circuit, classics from years past, engaging panel discussions and the filmmaking community as a whole.
Fellows also enjoy private sessions with acclaimed directors and producers. In the past, Full Frame Fellows engaged with D A Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus, Ryan White, Bernardo Ruiz, Stanley Nelson, Ross McElwee, Kirsten Johnson, Steve James, Peter Nicks, Marshall Curry, Albert Maysles, Julie Goldman and James Longley.
Full Frame’s intimate landscape gives students the opportunity to network with filmmakers and industry professionals, offering insights and experiences that go beyond the classroom.
Application
The application process for Duke Undergraduates will be posted in early December 2025. If you have questions about participating, please contact Miguel Rojas-Sotelo, Fellows Advisor for Duke University.
The Full Frame Fellows Program is also open to other schools across the country. Each participating program is responsible for the selection of students. At this time, Full Frame does not accept individual applications from students directly. If you have questions about the Fellows Program or are interested in participating with your school, please contact Full Frame Festival Co-Director & Artistic Director Sadie Tillery.
